How was the ride?

Good, except when I was delayed because the train in front of mine hit someone. o.o

Ugh. People don't know their physics... even some Navy cadets over here in Baltimore forget that a Light Rail car is heavy enough to flip a 2-person-bearing SUV and have it land within inches of a mother holding her baby.

I get to take the commuter from Everett (parking is free) to King St and then onto the Coast Starlight so I can visit my sister. It sucks I can't take the train from Bham to King St without it arriving two hours after the Starlight leaves.

Damn... could take the Cascades that arrives at King St at 10pm or so and stay the night somewhere I guess.

There's a hostel a couple blocks away for about $30. Total trip time would be around 40 hours versus the 24 or so driving to Everett. I'm not too happy leaving my car for a week, but at least this way I have more flexibility when coming back. IF the Starlight is on time, I'll be in Seattle by 9PM and can catch a bus to Everett. The alternative is going to Vancouver and taking the Amtrak Bus that completely bypasses Bellingham. Grr.

Yeah, I've had that problem with their bus before... wtf Amtrak?

Bellingham is just this gaping hole for early morning travel. Ah well. It just means it's not an official suburb of Seattle.

Yeah, right.. aned good riddance. It's really more a southern suburb of Vancouver.
