Familiar food was hard to come by here. The soft yet distinctive sound of water trickling into a pool alerted the aalukris to the location of this small pond fed by the stream she had been following. Stomach rumbling with hunger, her pace would speed up to an eager, brisk trot as she finally located the source of the sound. A log half-leaning over the steep banks offered an opportunity to come in close, and on this log Musaamik would cling to as her desperate blue eyes searched the depths of the pond for the small movement of any potential meals. A ripple in the water, a hope for her survival in this strange land.

Thank you so much! I have so much art of this beautiful, sweet girl. Musaamik is very close to my heart and her story very much mirrors how I've felt in my move to Australia back in 2011. A fish out of water. I have a piece from Isvoc that shows what her homeland looks like.
Yessss!! Isvocs attention to detail is insane! Iβm a huge fan of her artwork and sheβs the sweetest bean π
Musaamik reminds me of a little lost soul trying to find her way in a big, new and scary world, and I can see why she brings you so much comfort π
I look forward to seeing many more of this lovely lady!

Oh my gosh I'm so glad you get that impression from her story. <3 That's exactly what I wanted to explore with her, the feeling of awe and wonder right alongside the terror and cruelty. The dichotemy of life and justifying how even something that seems normal and nothing to be scared of can be so to a sheltered stranger to the situation. Check out my gallery for more pieces; I've linked the artist's upload to each of them.
