So, Mara is really good at getting Virmir so angry that he chases her blindly through trap-filled locations. She's got this bad habit of gloating, though. Once she's got Virmir in her clutches, she can't help but stop to tell him how she's just that much better than he is. After all, Virmir-Senpai has to notice her, right?
This has a tendency to get her in trouble, either when her plans immediately backfire, or when she bumbles into her own traps through carelessness. In this case, she seems to have forgotten that the arcane toad is a very territorial beast and doesn't like when anyone gets near it. She, as you may have guessed, counts as a part of "anyone."
But, ever the opportunist, it seems Mara's got a profitable scheme that will solve this problem *and* make a bit of money. She's a businesswoman at heart.
