I'd imagine for scales they'd be more likely to use liquid bandages, since scales could get really badly stuck to leftover adhesive when shedding. Liquid bandages are designed to wash away over time, so it would probably be a better option. Bandaid for fur would probably have to be applied after combing most of it out of the way, and with a bonding agent that can be released with a certain oil or other removal agent applied directly, either to the bandage, or the fur around it and allowed to soak.
