(I apologize for the indention errors; something messed up the formatting and I still haven't figured out what it was).
I got the idea for this story after seeing a number of
eggplantman's covers for the fictional magazine, Valkyries. It showcases superheroines in all their forms, and the faux articles listed often sounded as interesting as the super-ladies being showcased! I decided to try and write my own article for this magazine-that-doesn't-even-exist, just to see what one might look like.
The story focuses on a new superheroine I've only previously mentioned, Archer, and the goings-on of one of her patrols as documented by a reporter from the magazine.
This also acts as a preliminary story to a larger origin tale I hope to write soon. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the first-person perspective of the article. This guy Runner could be a regular contributor to the magazine if he is able to keep up with them. What species is he? If it was mentioned in the article (but why would it be?) I missed it.
I might have to use Runner in a future article blurb on a cover if that is okay with you. Tell me a bit about him.

No worries, you didn't miss anything; I purposely made his species ambiguous so that, in-universe, he has an extra layer of protection to his identity. I also wanted the readers to make their own guesses based on what qualities they believe him to possess, based on his writings and experiences :)
He's a rather quiet individual, but loves being active. He grew up admiring superheroes and, though he never had any powers of his own, always tried to emulate them. He worked out, practiced martial arts, and volunteered for a number of charitable organizations to understand ways society could be helped. He wrote about the latter experiences and decided to go into journalism. When his credentials met what the Valkyries staff was looking for in a new series of articles shadowing supers, he got the job offer of a lifetime!
Using him in a blurb is totally okay with me! :D If you need to know anything else about him, feel free to ask.
