Hot Sauce Day
Yep it's https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/hot-sauce-day/
no comic this time, but some RL hot sauce that I tried my hand at making after growing some various hot peppers this year. The sauces I made back at the end of summer which included a Tabasco style sauce (1st batch seen here), Jamaica style pepper sauce, and a habinaro-pineapple BBQ sauce.
also highly recommended sauces: https://darkbunny.ca/
Try the Hoppy Hedgehog and Lounging Leopard (the Leopard makes great fish tacos and chicken pineapple skewers)

not really all that spicy once fermented and cooked. It has about the same heat as a typical Tabasco style sauce, just more flavor depth since I used some roasted garlic, lime, and onion in it as well as fermented peppers (and used a mix of Thai, Bulgarian Sweet, and a couple of yellow habinero type peppers to nudge the heat back to standard hot sauce Scovilles).
Makes some seriously good Buffalo Wings
Makes some seriously good Buffalo Wings
Ah yes. Also makes a terrific chicken wing...
Take a package of raw chicken wings either pre-cut for Buffalo Wings or trim them yourself and marinate in 5-spice, Soya Sauce, Sesame Seed Oil, crushed garlic and ginger for 1-2 hours. Arrange wings in a steamer basket for 10-15 minutes to draw off excess fat. Final cooking I either go straight into a smoker for about 25 min with a mix of applewood and hazel or dust with flour and a tiny bit of baking soda and lightly spritz with spray oil and into an air fryer for 22 minutes before tossing in the Private Pangolin or another General Tso sauce.

I admit I bought this when I saw the General Tso name. I like it. Spicy, but not kill your tastebuds hot. I don;t have a smoker, had intended this as a dip or a dribble on before microwaving sauce, I will especially try this on Chicken Strips, but hey, a furry sauce. either for us or by a furry person. of course the American hot sauce manufacturers might get a little testy, but they are not furry
LOL I'm not really a total chili-head either. I find that Korean Bone Stew or a *mild* Schezwan Hot-Pot is my upper limit, which in terms of Youtube would be the x1 strength Korean Spicy Hot Chicken Ramen challenge. Yes I tried the Original Hot Chicken Noodle and hit my limit just before the end--I am not foolish enough to try the x2 or higher... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EARi2s_hgw
