Such good friends huh?

It's less about friendship, and more about the environment. Poland is a highly conservative country, where two thirds of the population are against gay marriage. If a homosexual were to speak openly about their orientation, it could have consequences on their life. Things are somewhat improving and there are certainly areas (both in geographical terms, and in the context of career fields) where you have a higher chance of being accepted, however if one takes the entire society and surrounding, then being outright open, plain for all to see is something considered a bit risky. Religious folks would get upset at you, and some hooligans could beat you up.

I knew that what I was writing was this sweet scene where Keiran opens up. I decided that instead of being simply a huggy-wuggy "You should have never feared being yourself! We love you you!!!" type of thing, Keiran would hear someone like Voren make a jarring "Your fears and worries were absolutely understandable and justified" comment. It makes the scene less sugary-sweet, and more real.

Of course this isn't the end of the scene, so be prepared for more.

That is a bit depressing honestly. I really do hope things get better for gay people in Poland.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. I have a boyfriend right now, and I'm happy with that alone, and will manage no matter how society evolves.
