The end of the year was rather busy for this Shep! For Christmas, I went to visit my family up in Scotland, and for New Year’s my sister and I agreed to try and get out to visit our dad in the South of Spain. Being 76, he’s decided that he doesn’t like being cold, which I imagine some of you reading can get behind. ^^
Anyway, the cheapest way I could spot was a single fare from Glasgow to Malaga via Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, where I would stay for an 8-hour layover. So, judging that the Netherlands had gone into a strict lockdown just after Christmas, and that Schiphol is essentially built to support layover passengers on account of it being KLM’s main hub, I decided to chill there for a day. A pretty quiet, 6am flight from Glasgow got me to Amsterdam, and with the morning sun I stepped onto foreign soil for the first time in over two years. Following a relaxing shower and some pastries for breakfast, I mostly walked around examining the shops and read my copy of “Roy: Between Marco and Tracy” ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42553746/ ). The second flight, to Malaga, was with KLM’s subsidiary low-cost carrier Transavia, on which I was sat on a seat reminiscent of a green sea turtle, in the back row next to the toilet, next to a guy who insisted on holding his phone elbow-out the entire flight and neglected to switch it to flight mode. Needless to say, I wasn’t impressed, but at least I got there safely. ^__^
Hope you enjoy!
