POST-TOURNAMENT INTERVIEW W/ TWOTAPS
by: Dawn Interra
I: First off, I want to congratulate you on your third major win in a row!
TT: Thank you!
I: With the other two majors under your belt, did you feel the pressure coming into this tournament?
TT: Definitely, but at this point, it doesn't inhibit my performance. I've had eyes on me for far too long to let them get to me now.
I: Fair enough. So, as the favorite, everyone's gunning for you...
TT: Uh-huh.
I: ...meaning your footage is probably played over and over and over in others' training sessions. How do you stay ahead of them when you're constantly being analyzed and studied.
TT: It's rough, lemme tell ya. Especially with a player liked Archy. Guy's a lab monster. There's a reason he made it to Grand Finals. And everybody in the community picks up real fast. Two tourneys ago I would've said top 16 was free. Now people in Top 32 give me a run for my money. But in terms of staying ahead, I just have to work harder. They study me, I study them. It takes a lot of dedication but events like this make it worth every second.
I: Speaking of Archon, any comments on the Grand Finals set. The match came down to one or two crucial decisions at the end. What was going through your head at the time?
TT: Ahh, Archy is a damn good player, man. I have nothing but respect for them. It takes a lot to play at this level, but to perform, put on a show worth watching, it's a whole nother skill set. And they are bursting with both. Second place is hard, but they should hold their tail high for this weekend alone. To be honest, the set is a bit of a blur. Bu-
Bystander: YO!
TT: KAIIII
K?: Should we call you ThreeTaps now??
TT: Nah, doesn't roll off the tongue.
K: You busy?
TT: Nah, what's up?
