**Giggles!**
BE a bit patient with me, my dear friends and fans. I'm in one of those really groovy moods this morning on a rare Monday "Down Day!" Usually, there is only a few of those during the year where I take the day off and yet the Firm keeps on chugging right along. There will be one probably in February of 2022 as well, but I want to play this by ear. Hm? Why you ask? Well, for what I do for the Firm often revolves around deliveries and errands to banks, the post office, and government offices in the various towns surrounding Savannah. When there is a Federal holiday, all of those are closed down, eliminating about two-thirds of what I do, so there's the reason. Some of you might remember this from years gone by. I had often shared this in the various streams hosted by such groovy guys and wonderful artists like
kecomaster and
milkybody to which I remember a few friends actually saying that with all I do, I need to enjoy life more. Well ...
Ok, most of you are waiting for a story ... well, though of you who read the notes found underneath the artwork ... so here you go! This one is going to take a bit of explanation. Since I was little, my mother had a wonderful leather couch in her office, that old quality that is no longer matched or found without paying an extraordinary price. The couch was in my family all the way back to the few years before the Civil War, held onto Major's family, my grandfather. His family was enormous! Eighteen kids living underneath one roof! Yeah, you heard me right! Through the years, it's been passed down through the Lee Family and finally ended up in my mother's infamous office at East Beach. Now, for me ... especially being a very small person ... this couch was like a whole world to me! Hours and hours and hours of laying on it, reading almost all of my mother's fantastic library of books, including the tons on Egyptology, Criminology, all sorts of civilizations like Rome, Italy, Greece, Japan, Russia, and Germany, and also it is where I discovered the history behind "Jack the Ripper" himself! I also read the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings books when I was young, like most people my age, but I also read books like "Through the Looking Glass!", the collection of Sherlock Holmes, a ton of pulp fiction books like Conan the Barbarian, Red Sonja, Doc Savage, and even James Bond! It was there that I discovered my love for high adventure!
Now, when I was not on it, my mother reread all of her books that she published with the various beagles stretched out at her feet or even the plethora of cats, including Silver, the white-footed siamese cat who loomed over her whether she was having her favorite turkey, cheddar, and wheat bread sandwiches or sipping on a glass of wine, often red with maybe some chocolates that Pop brought home ... I always laughed, wondering if Silver got into the wine. Probably. Now that I remember, Silver's kids or siblings ... not sure which ... were the twins, Chaos and Mayhem, who usually got thrown into my bedroom because Mom would get irritated with their shenanigans! Nevertheless, this was a thoroughly enjoyed couch by all. Even Pop stretched out on it a few times ... not entirely sure why, but he always told me, "Get lost, kid ... you're not old enough to know why I'm here." :)
Since Mom is gone, the couch used to reside (as I was promised by my Big Sister ... who told me when Kurama-chan asked me about some reference pictures and my lazy sister told me that it was in storage! STORAGE?!!) at my folk's place and was waiting for me to pick it up someday when I get my own place, not an apartment, but a studio like Mom had, just with computers, beanbag chairs, lava lamps, and a movie popcorn machine. A dream that I had that died away. From what I was told recently, the couch was lost somehow. My Big Sister and I thought it was at a storage place in Bonifay, Florida just down the way from Mom and Pop's place, but somehow it ... well ... was gone. Her husband thought I spoke of the couch that they had down in the living room, but that was an old 1970s couch that I hated and told him I was not interested. My Big Sister was really upset! She didn't mean for it to get lost and I told her that it was ok ... she knew how much I loved it however.
Kicking off this year of 2022 with a fresh and invigorated passion, I have decided to try and get back into the groove of role-playing again, some of the same stuff I loved doing a few years back, but with my own creativity. Originally as I said, I did incorporate this magnificent couch into the lounging around and chatting in the List's (f-list.net) Inflation Room, even making it more like the night club that I spoke of in an earlier posting. This piece, done by my gal-pal and fan-favorite artist,
kurama-chan, was done back ... I want to say about two or three years ago. Kurama-chan had been busy off and on of late with life ... as we all have ... and recently I reconnected with my groovy good friend and found that she is indeed doing well. This is why I have been on a kick of reposting her works on both Deviant Art and FurAffinity.
So, here is my personal "Thank you!" to y'all out there who have been patient with me while I work out my ideas once again and BE Happy!
