It does not take much to distract the gigantic dragon as a tasty airplane flies past his vision. This is a sketch of a picture I am currently colouring. I will put this in scraps when it is done.

Perspective is a pretty spiffy trick. Two Point Perspective is rather easy to understand and to implement as well. Simply pick two points on the horizon, and then all the lines of the buildings point directly at them. Here's sort of an example I did for school recently that... well, I had some fun with as well:

Also most of my pieces have some sort of perspective practice with degrees of success. A search here for 'Tyrnn perspective' comes up with a lot of macro art with perspective in mind.
Hope this helps!

whille I think the picture is awesome, I must say you didn't quite nail the perspective side. For one thing, givven how large this dragon is I think the perspective would dictate he would have the head much smaller then you drew it. I have a fealling that if you viewed him from the side his head and chest would be much larger then his butt sort of speak.
As for the city... again, it looks more like an isometricview ( the kind you saw in oldschool RTS or RPG games ( like age of empiers or diablo ) basicly showing buildings to their real size without any perspective deformation.
You should try building a perspective mroe accuratelly.
Though I do hope this dosen't demoralise or fofend you, I really like the way the pic looks... it just dosen't nail the concepts quite right.
Oh and planes are fun indeed.

For a picture that relied so heavily on perspective to give the impression of size, I have to agree with you that it is a little shoddy. I have honestly not drawn any perspective and it shows. I have been remedying some of that in Photoshop as I am colouring. Already I have deleted all the buildings and have worked some perspective lines into it.
I will also enlarge the rear end to match the rest of the angle as I am colouring it. Hopefully the final coloured version will be much better.
Thank you so much for the critism, I am happy to have received some so do not feel bad for that.

It's funny, I was able to do a preatty decent perspective back when I did it on paper... the best example I can give is the following:

Yeah I know it dosen't look like much now, but I am still proud of the actual cityscape even today. It was made on paper with nothing more then a ruler and a mech pencill but I remember I did the actual grid first then just started filling out each hex. Was peoud of the result.
Saddly when I ported to photoshop and the digital medium I was no longer able to do such precice perspectives. Photoshop isn't very friendly for such things.
But the point is that I'm loking forward to the revised versione of this image. Good luck.

Thank you very much for the help, I have made the head smaller and the chest has been shrunk a little too. The city also has been fixed and Meanbean has also suggested using vapour trails from the plane to help.
Once more, thanks for the advice and I do look forward to showing you the finished piece.
