I used no photographic references, just my memory. I have to say, I really liked the end result.
As much as I adore all the "big ticket" animals at Toronto Zoo (the polar bear, gorilla, elephant, lions, tigers, etc), it is the dhole who is my #1 favorite animal. The zoo's had them since 1997 and ever since, I was hooked on them. They're a rare Asian canid, not related to foxes or wolves despite their resemblance towards them. Although they certianly have their admirers, I always think these guys are so overlooked by zoo visitors, but their enclosure's location doesn't help >.< Thankfully they're getting an new enclosure that'll be easier for people to get access to so they too can admire these beauties.
