Reference Sheet: Supervillain The Salesman
Name- Unknown
Alias-The Salesman
Gender Male
Species Raven
Age Unknown
Personality- The vibe the Salesman gives in normal conversation is unsettling. He always obsessively turns the majority of conversation to selling or buying. Always in a cheery
60's-80's T.V salesman. He bursts into laughter at the most inappropriate times. He moves with jerky smoothness as if he’s not entirely in tune with his body. This Raven’s entire reason for living is the deal and the exchange of currency for goods and services.
Powers-
Underside Emporium- The Salesman is the proprietor of an interdimensional marketplace for the villain in need for currency services, supplies, money laundering, and trades. As the owner, he has access to a variety of otherworldly technology, and ancient relics and artifacts for unruly customers, belligerent stock, and obstructions to business.
Business contract with Unknown Higher Reality Patron- The Salesman has entered into a mutual contract with an unidentified higher level being. Tenets include a clause to do business with anybody willing for a market equitable price, imperishability as long as there’s some sentient being seeking illicit trade, and a restriction that prevents The Salesman in ever engaging in any pure altruistic function.
Novice Contract magic- The Salesman has some limited skills with contract based magic as a result of his profession. At his current skill level, he is able to determine typical everyday common contracts or agreements developed with this ability have been broken along with general awareness of the oathbreaker.
Multilocation- The Salesman has been observed to be in multiple locations at simultaneous times engaging in transactions and sales. This is a function of his business.
Profile- Where The Salesman began or ended is buried under the mists of time and casualty, along with various layers of misdirection and arcane force. Even the Salesman personal information if purchased from the corvid himself is vague and spotty, as if the man isn’t able to fully recall it. It is certain that his life was recent, his mannerisms and behavior fitting between the era of the 1960’s - 1980’s. But any particular names and faces slide and scatter into a jumbled mess of a personal timeline, especially when there are records of The Salesman being active in ancient times and for some time sliders, the future. It is certain that The Salesman was just a simple salesman for various companies and his skills were enough to promote him into management positions. But he always ended up transferring out to dive back into the profession he lived for. Until one day like all things, he was left by the wayside. Either his age or his skillset didn’t match the demands of the time. Until he got his big break and became the shadow economy for the world empowered crime.
Weakness- The Salesman is always focused on business and to this raven, anything can be bought and sold for the right price. It can be surprising to heroes and some villains that their schemes or heroics can have quite the wrench thrown at them or stopped with the exchange of some cold hard cash or items of value in trade. The Salesman furthermore is just an average raven barring any equipment or goods that he carries on him. He has no personal stakes in the clash of justice and villainy, only ensuring that the money flows and the world turns. He is also driven off by acts of pure altruism through clauses under the employment he is under. He also does not directly/personally interfere with the business dealings or contracts of other villains or heroes with the only caveat of offering them better value. He also has a phobia of phones and will not engage in phone or video sales. Only in person dealings.
