So, I thought of creating a piece to express how I sort of function when working on something for too long. I guess this would be somewhat of a Scherzo. I decided to incorporate a bit of musique concrete by recording sounds of a mechanical watch and an old typewriter. In the piece, the typewriter's rhythm symbolises how I strive for perfection. The ticking switching from the left to the right ear is meant to create a spiralling sensation, almost like descending into madness and frustration because of the longing to complete something I have started. Overall, this piece is meant to express my mind and emotions when I push myself to complete something during late hours, hence the name Overtime.
