"That is... a long way down..."
After the chilly night had passed and the wandering Tyrannomon gave his farewells I continued on through the glacier and soon found myself at the edge of a large, rather broken up looking canyon. Metal, rusting bridges zig zagged between pillars here and creaked rather ominously in the early morning winds. No reason to head back but was this really the safest choice forward?
This couldn't be, I tried to look around for any way more safe around the canyon but the sheer edges to everything made the prospect of going around impossible to a 'mon like me. The same could be said with going down into the crevice as it was so deep that a fog or dust or something obscured the floor below, giving the illusion as if I was high in the sky rather than anywhere near the ground. One thing I did manage to see was a Triceramon off in the distance. He was only visible for a moment as he took one of these bridges and soon disappeared into someplace hollowed out into one of the pillars.
"Well, if they could support them, then it shouldn't be too bad." I say to myself as I start, rather cautiously, over the first bridge. I didn't even make it a few steps over it before the fear started to return. The bridge creaking and gently giving to my weight as I crossed, the seeming forever stretching down pillars giving me a feeling as if I could fall at any moment.
"M-maybe just a look to see it's not that far?" I thought to myself and man, still can't reason why I thought that. All it took was to peek over the side before all thought of things just being in my head instantly clearing up and the gravity of what I was doing took over again. I was soon back on my feet and quickly sprinting across the bridge, not feeling any kind of safety until there was solid rock beneath me again.
As I catch my breath I look out over the canyon once again, at all the bridges still to go. One down...
Man, took me awhile to get back to these, eh? First drawing of the year though and really liked how the perspective turned out here!
Gabumon, Birdramon, Digimon world and Digimon belong to Bandi and Toei Animation. The not usually acrophobic gabumon is mine.
