This one turned out much better than I anticipated. I wanted to try out some new tricks to make black and white pictures that pop and I'm rather pleased with this picture. Anyway, some story context: This rat soldier was part of failed military invasion and he is one of the few surviving soldiers. He certainly did not expect large fox goddess of death to appear to collect souls of the fallen.
The fox goddess in this picture you may have seen in some of my earlier pictures. The uniforms of the soldiers here have been modeled by US civil war era uniforms, but this picture has no historical bearing and this world is fantasy world of my own making, so they're not americans.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this picture. Well you better be, 'cause after drawing this I got inspired to make even more black and white art, so expect there to be a lot of that in near future.
