The red panda awaited the detective's response, but it didn't come.

V: Hello?

Vemook scanned the room for any sign that the snow leopard was present to no avail. They didn't remember Spots saying he was heading out, but duty calls sometimes they figured.

"Duty" also threatened the safety of their home. On multiple occasions Vemook and/or Spots found criminals spying on their home or attempting to at least. Although it hadn't happened before, the pair was wary of intruders breaking into their house. The investigator decided to stay in the door and grabbed their phone to call Spots before going any further.

It was at this moment, as he looked down, Vemook found themselves wrapped up in a pair of arms. The embrace wasn't aggressive, as if it was trying to restrain him. It was a snug hold more like an embrace. From this, he gained that he was not being kidnapped or anything of the sort. If that wasn't enough, the sudden purring confirmed what his instincts told him.

V: I still don't get how you do that.

This wasn't the first time Spots snuck up on his housemate. Despite his usual awkwardness and occasional clumsiness, the leopard was very good at prowling.

S: Lots of in-field practice.

Vemook snorted.

V: You gonna hug the next perp you arrest?

S: You have the right to remain silent.

The two shared a small bit of laughter.

V: Alright, you can let go now.

S: After not seeing you all day? Hmmmm, I'll think about it...
