Bleh, just doodling around. Trying to work on a good profile drawing, and failing.
I'm not certain why I always end up looking depressed in these pictures. Something about the eyes

I used a basic model of a skull for the basis for this sketch, I might have to move away from that in the future, the look is a little too skeletal, and the more skeletal I look, the closer it gets to a bad Diablo knock-off.

I'm also still playing around with ears "up" vs. "down", can't decide which I like better. Probably end up switching between the two randomly.


This sketch was done entirely in Photoshop, essentially by adding layers one by one, each one refining the shape until it was good enough for me to be satisfied. I might try actual drawing next, there are some things I can do on paper that my tablet just doesn't handle well.


Ooh, and one last thought: Where the hell do I put this on the "species" chart? It's not in a draconic style which is oh-so-popular, but I thought about sticking it under "reptilian", until I realized the body style / overall leathery-ness would be more fitting of mammalian evolution. I'm gonna stick this in Mammals / Other until I hear/think of a better place.
