“Something inside me wants to resist…badly.” Sylvia hadn’t completely lost her instinct. “It’s screaming, telling me you’re dangerous. Maybe you are…” She fluttered her eyelashes at him. “But then that voice gets drowned out by a softer, soothing voice begging me to gaze into the unknown, satiate my curiosity. Like poring over the pages of a good book.”
The snake smiled warmly at his love-prey, finding satisfaction in the changes he had made in her.
“So then, Kaa, will you capture me like a good read? Lure my mind away from the hum-drum drudgery of library work into a realm of imagination?” She closed her eyes and smiled back. “Fine, but like a good book, you’ll have to hook me in. Convince me to turn my attention to you, and I’ll get lost in your words…” The lady blushed. “…like a good girl.”
“Playing hard to get, Dogcub?” He let loose a hissing chuckle at her flirtatious response. “Oh, but you should know better than to hide those beautiful green eyes away from your master.” His tail slinked over to her stomach and began to tickle her. “Maybe some belly rubs can convince my good girl to take a peek at me…”
Goosebumbs ran over her soft skin as she tried her best to stifle a laugh, Kaa playfully mocking her gleeful snickering. “Silly little Dogcub, look your master in the eyes when he speaks to you.” The delightfully torturous ministrations of his tail, and the beckoning of his suggestions, were becoming too much to bear. “Both of your pretty eyes, if you please…”
Gasping for air, Sylvia had no choice. It was time to let him savor victory.
Her eyes opened wide, greeted by the warm glow of the spellbinding hues…
