For the first time that night, she lifted her eyes to look at him. “I don’t even know your name.”
“Kaa, my sweet.” The word hit neatly on her ears. Something both mystifying and authoritative seemed to resonate with that name. Then again, perhaps he had been conditioning her to respond positively to his voice. It was admittedly becoming harder to discern where the line between her own desires and his was being drawn.
Were they even her thoughts?
Before she had met the snake, she had never before known such a ravenous hunger for something that wasn’t literature or 70’s memorabilia. But even if she turned his offer down, it wouldn’t make the thoughts go away. And if the serpent was truly as skilled as he was, it was probably undeniable that he would simply have his way with her on his own terms. Maybe it was better that she try to see eye-to-eye with him, figuratively, of course.
“Okay, Kaa. But I’m a very busy woman. Can you promise to keep this short?”
He chuckled hissingly. “Why? Afraid of going too deep, Dogcub? Soooo very deep? Deeper than ever before?”
A shiver ran down her spine. Ah fuck…why did he have to make it sound so good? Deep in trance was exactly where she wanted to be.
