Yes and no, my indecision and doubt has gotten the best of me and now I don't know if the name Athos will stay. Currently considering different names like Gio [Giovanni], Dante, and others.

It's funny you mention it, I was always a fan of the leader of Team Rocket and that was one of the reasons for consideration lol [not that my OC is a madman though!]. And also a fan of Jojo as well as Italian automakers...etc so hence the propensity for Italian sounding names.
I never heard of Devil May Cry, an anime?

Devil May Cry is a video game series. Though it did spawn a 12 episode anime adaptation. The games center around Dante, a human/demon hybrid, who regulary goes around hunting his fellow demons wielding a giant sword and twin pistols. It's a pretty good video game series. You might enjoy it! They're on Playstation and, I think on X Box and Nintendo Switch too. You can watch the entire anime for free on Youtube, though I would recommend at least playing the first three games before you do as it does reference them. Other then that though, it has no real connection to the games. So you could also skip the anime if you want. The chronological order is 3, 1, 2, the anime (again, optional), 4 and then 5.

Ah I see, I also watched some trailers of the game and an analysis of the anime, while not my kind of game the character Dante seems pretty cool and not a bad character to share a name with. You played or watched it yourself?

Sure have! They're pretty fun! The first one I beat was Devil May Cry 4. I had loads of fun! Might have been the first one I ever played too. There's also DMC, which is a remake of the original. It's grittier and has more cursing in it. Especially in this one hilarious scene where Dante and this giant bug lady demon are dropping F bombs at each other. The anime's alright. Not bad. But like I said, other than referencing the first three games, (Actually first two, now that I think about it, since Virgil, Dante's twin brother and the main antagonist of Devil May Cry 3, isn't even mentioned) it doesn't actually connect to the games much. It instead tells side stories of Dante's other adventures outside of the games. You can watch it if you want. Like I said, the entire 12 or more episode series is free to watch on YouTube. You can also walkthroughs for the games if you don't want to actually play them and just experience/enjoy the story instead.

I've never played a game where there is ful blown cursing, it sounds hilarious. I don't plan on watching the anime or play the games, was mainly just curious. Usually I do just that, watch walkthroughs or analysis in these cases. With so many games of it I'm surprised I haven't heard of Dante before but maybe it's just because I'm not really in the gaming circle other than pokemon and race car games.
