Weight Studies - And Writing
I haven't been on this account for a while so I did some studies to get back into the drawing mood with more confidence. The side view is inconsistent compared to the others, but otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with how these turned out. I wanted to show all the pinches and pulls of his outfit. I'm going to describe it as well because there are parts my art just doesn't portray the same way words can do.

Chuck wears a fairly standard mechanic uniform with an easy-to-clean work shirt in a stiff polyester canvas. It's a material that doesn't hold wrinkles or stains, which means that when he moves, every wrinkle that appears is immediate and momentous, but crisp and clear. Each strain upon the fabric shows at the moment of pressure and disappears when the pressure is eased. An abundance of crisp folds tend to appear around the buttons of the shirt, mostly hidden under the restraint of the apron. More appear at every motion of his heavy arms, every bounce of his rolling hills, and every grip of his his accessories.
The upper apron straps wrap around his breasts and lift up his bosom to tie behind his neck and accentuate the thick rolls found there. The fanny pack cinches his upper torso to further constrict the breasts and billow the upper back and sides. The most pressure is here, squeezing rolls above and below like cookie dough under a roller.
The mid apron straps squeeze his love handles, and suspender straps meet them at his side with a 4 way bulge of feathered belly. The suspender straps buckle into his fanny pack belt, which holds the weight securely and directs the burden of keeping his pants in place to his upper belly and middle back.
His apron covers his front because his shirt does not--it tends to ride up when he sits down and he doesn't usually care to pull it back into place again, unless speaking to someone particularly intimidating. He likes the apron because the large pocket on the front is easy to slip his hands into when compared to the tightness of his pants pockets. It's also easy to pull on the fabric to bring the whole pocket closer and more into eye-line, making it extra convenient when the extra effort of reaching farther forward and blindly digging around is unappealing. That would be most of the time.
His jeans are pretty tight around his waist, which helps his shirt stay mostly tucked at the back as long as he doesn't wriggle around too much. They have an elastic waistband so that he doesn't need to feel strangled by buttons after a good feed. A heavy underbelly fills their groin space with no room to spare, and following a meal, a reasonable amount spills out from the elastic waist to hang with the rest of his soft, round, bared luggage in the shade of his trusty apron.
