This could have possibly been more obvious like with a thought balloon or some sort of daydream bubble, but I think I'll leave it as is. Something in me kept bugging me when I tried to add more to it. Possibly in my mind I think of winter being a barren time where all color drains out of the world, very dreary.
Growing up in central Maine I mostly got the impression of always being cold down to my bones and things being so dark and lifeless. Despite having lots of ski trips thanks to my sisters and having lots of fun sliding, the winter was always something to suffer through.
