I personally believe there should be distinction between hard and soft drugs, and soft drugs should be legalised and hard may be controlled or banned, depending on how bad it is. The Netherlands has done this to great success, it brought crime rates down soooooo much.

Same here; my list of soft drugs is rather short though: Marijuana, Mushrooms, and Extacy/MDMA. Everything else isn't worth making legalized because it just fucks you up worse than the 3 of those could ever do to you. and yes, we most definitely need to start doing what they're doing over in the Netherlands; we'd learn a thing or two.

Cannabis is less harmful and addictive than tobacco and alcohol! There are countless deaths directly attributed to the two, but not once has there been a death directly caused by cannabis. Legalising it will not only reduce crime, but it will also open up the path for medical use of cannabis, which has been proven to be effective at helping people suffering from terminal illnesses like cancer not being in so much pain. Also, a legal trade could pull in government tax revenues from it, instead of splurging huge amounts of dough funding prisons and cops

Rich? Please, they're getting broke beyond all belief, this drug war is not far off the expenditure on Iraq or Afghanistan. Wars are very expensive. The ones who are profiting are probably the likes of Colt, Raytheon, Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, BAE Systems, General Dynamics, maybe even the likes of Blackwater.

Yeah, the owners/leaders of big corporations and what not; Colt is the gun manufacturer, while Boeing is for the likes of planes and what not. But still, the government feed off of the drug wars because they make almost as much as they lose when they bust big oporations

True, though it's a net expenditure when you think about it. And to be precise, all those companies are known as Military Contractors, as in the suppliers of their guns, planes, jeeps, missiles, helicopters. They always profit from war. I remember Bell Helicopter made an enormous profit from the Vietnam War, I think it's pretty obvious why.

And Blackwater's a private army. Wanna invade a country? Hire Blackwater >:D

Yeah, Colt makes the M16 rifle and a lot of the guns the US army uses (even though anything by Heckler & Koch is way better), and Boeing, in addition to commercial airliners like the 747 and the 777, also make a lot of millitary planes like the V-22 Osprey, the F-15 and the F-18. And yeah, Blackwater's pretty badass, I would sooooo use them to invade my neighbours to the south Singapore
