The sun stands high in the sky, bathing the mountain valley in light and warmth. The trees dance ever so slightly in the gentle breeze, the wind carrying forth the beautiful bird song and the scent of flowers freshly bloomed. The mountains gaze down enviously at the quaint and peaceful meadow. Flowers dot the landscape, beautiful specs of paint amongst the grass and trees. Birds flutter to and from, and butterflies flap delicately between the flowers. Not a single cloud hangs in the sky, the sky a virgin canvas of blue. The meadow is alive with the beauty and wonder of a carefree spring day. Even the guardian of the forest indulges in the whimsy of that perfect day, lounging in the sun and rolling about in the grass happily. The birds show no alarm as she approaches, they do not fear her, for they know their protector.
Here it is, part 3 of this little seasons project! I’m just in love with the pose and the energy of this piece! She just looks so content and at peace with the world around her. I really like how the birds aren’t afraid of her, the whole meadow and its denizens are at peace. I also appreciate that Behane managed to very cleverly spread Fiadh’s purple around a bit with all the lavender! Also yes, I see the slight irony in that there are no roses in this picture, but the quote felt too appropriate to pass up using for the title haha.
