Finished commission for
presentfactory
Thanks again for the patience. I enjoyed exploring the character and have something else of my own planned (with permission) for some point in the future.
This ended up being a very interesting project, especially as it's the only comic-like thing I've properly done so far. I really wanted to do this high-res too, to try and allow for some smaller detailing. Also hope the resolution isn't too ridiculous or weird for most people to view.

Thanks; it pretty much was its own piece for each panel actually, especially since each panel had its own compositional sketches.
In any case, I had made this in a way that would let me finalise each one as an individual image if required, if the comic format didn't work out in the end or wasn't wanted anymore; I think we weren't sure about it in the beginning.

RLog 771: "The titanic alien worm we had lost track of was located today in the least welcome manner; inside our base perimeter. While we had long speculated yet been unable to confirm its eating habits, we now know it will eat whatever it deems nutritious, including both the base and its inhabitants. Of particular note, after consuming the experimental labs, it began to convert sustenance to body mass. Its gargantuan body has now swollen to several times its original size. It is currently resting after its recent gorging."
RLog 772: "The remaining scientists are taking samples in hopes of killing the beast. Unfortunately, whatever it consumed in the lab has not only caused its body to expand (and it continues to grow) but its flesh has become incredibly strong and resilient to both physical damage and pathogens. If only those experiments had worked so well on our soldiers... Nonetheless, I am hopeful we will find a solution to our bloated predicament. Our resident xenozoologist suggests it would remain content with its current meal for several years - though its ever-increasing size calls that estimation into question."
RLog 782: "Today's experiment focused on genetic sabotage of the beast's cellular regeneration. Initially, scraps of flesh at the injection site died and rotted off. Many breaths of relief were heard as the rot continued to spread. Then, the wound suddenly and rapidly healed. Alternate formulations were injected, but these each made the injection site appear shinier and healthier. It was as though the destructive injection now provided a benefit to the beast's health. Rather than rot, a healthy sheen has spread across the beast's body. New measurements show its growth rate has substantially accelerated. Theories arose that its initial adaptation of the various lab concoctions can be attributed to a strong evolutionary mechanism. While we would love to study its incredible biology in detail, its accelerated growth has caused the beast to quickly digest its remaining meal, and so it already hungrily stirs from its slumber.
Recommendation to Earth Command: after it consumes this planet, seal the beast in dead space. It may already be unkillable."
RLog 783: "... ... ... It ate our ship's gravity drive and can now travel space. It left this half-eaten planet, but its travel path appears to be in the direction of the system's trinary solar masses. Current growth projections suggest we have mere hours until it begins consuming entire galaxies. Yesterday I was a scientist; today I witnessed the birth of god."

That was an interesting read, not to mention a very quick writing exercise for you, I imagine.
It also seems partly appropriate to what I recall
presentfactory telling me about the character. Would be interesting to know what they think of your story. :D

Yeah I did see it, quite nice little story thingy! I do quite like growth and all that (which is why there's some implied in the comic itself) and have commissioned some other stuff like that before, so it's always nice to see. I also usually do think of it as a sorta ancient pretty much biologically immortal thing so that kinda fits with its difficulty to kill too :p
