WWWOOOOWWWWW!!! OMFG JOLYN.
This might be one of my favorite things you've ever done!! Please explain to me how one continues to improve by leaps and bounds without even trying! I know you haven't drawn much these last several months (don't worry, I haven't either), but somehow you still get better and better everytime you upload. And I don't mean just a few little things here and there are improved upon. I mean, like, monumentally improved!! And it's difficult to imagine in and of itself how you could have possibly improved upon your art as it was, but you always amaze me and find a way somehow to top yourself every time. It's always such a treat to see you post art, whether its old or new. But I do hope that you find more of the time, motivation, inspiration, or anything and everything else you need to help you to draw more in the near and coming future. <3

Girl... you... are absolutely amazing. That comment just made me feel so good about myself and my art. I realize I doubt myself way too much. I've had such a shitty day and to get such an amazing comment.. you are just incredible. I am glad that you can see an improvement in my work, and that when I take a break from art for a while I come back stronger. Sometimes I feel so rusty, I worry... but you just made me realize I gotta knock that thought out of my head!

I'm so glad it made you feel good, honey. You deserve to feel good about yourself more than probably anyone I know. But I really mean it. I feel so priviledged to have watched your art (and you!) develop and mature and improve over the years. I am so grateful to have been a part of your life, however minimally, through that journey. I love seeing you post new art and seeing you motivated and watching how your characters and your style continually grows and changes with you and your life. It always gives me something to look forward to, which really means a ton to me these days considering there really isn't much I get excited about anymore. But I also love seeing your old art because it really gives me something tangible with which to compare to the new and put all of that growth into perspective. It also lets me reminisce and be nostalgic remembering the old days and all of the good times back then.
I know you have been in a big rut, which is understandable, considering how much stress you're under with school and trying to establish a career and your own independence and self-reliance. And stress can be a sensational creativity and artful-motivation killer. More like serial murderer. I'm right there with you. But I know once you get your feet back on the ground and things relax again, you will come back and start doing more and better things with your art. I never get too distressed because I know that art and our little community will never be too far from your heart. And I'll be here when you find the time and the drive again. I look forward to that day. :)

Don't you ever apologize for leaving me long comments, you know I love it!! It shows how much you really care, Laura. YOU are an amazing person inside and out, and I hope you know that everything you just said about me I feel about you. I have loved watching you grow, not only through your art but as a person. It's so crazy to think the first time I met you, you were only 15! And now look at the beautiful woman you have become.
I truly miss you and think about you all the time... and I am serious when I say I hope we can visit each other and hang out sometime. If you are possibly able to make it to FF I would freak out, but if not, I understand and we'll just have to set something else up. Chiv and I are going to try to drive down to MD to visit Russell sometime, and hopefully we could see you too! Or I'll just make a separate trip just for YOU because you are so worth it and I miss hanging out with you more than you know.
