A little late this year, but I still want to keep up the tradition!
Hey, hope y'all arrived safely in 2022!
Up there is one picture I really liked per month, sometimes my fave, sometimes one I'm proud of or that just represent what I was doing that month.
2021 was a mixed bag for me, I feel like I didn't really develope much as an artist? And I repeated myself a lot in my art. On the other hand, I think I've gotten faster. And I still enjoy it immensely. But I miss doing bigger works, putting more effort into a single piece and really stretching my artist muscles, you know what I mean?
When I put this meme together, I was also surprised to find my 2021 art folder to be way less chunky than my 2020 one. But now I realize, I've totally forgotten that I did a Pretty Sketchbook & a daily one sketchpage. That are like ~400 pages extra 😂 while I filled barely any sketchbook page the year before, whoops. (Both on Patreon, the finished one on Gumroad soon)
April is btw my most essential Jameel drawing. That's him. ☺️
And July is my fave of the whole year, because Prince 💖💖💖 Glad to have him in my lil furry crew

Man, I totally get what you mean about enjoying learning to work faster but missing doing bigger works. I think the ideal is to do a bit of both and keep things in balance. :) Congrats on making progress on learning to draw faster, though! That's an art skill people almost never discuss, but one that is vitally important to anyone who plans to sell commissions and/or work professionally. Here's to another year of art!
Hmm, I don't have a big problem with that myself, typically--I usually know at the early stages whether something is something I want to put more effort into or not. Though, sometimes I do get it wrong and end up spending effort on something that would have been better as a sketch/faster piece, that's always a bit annoying.
