It is extremely creative and fun! I wonder if it is an Earth Pony with augmentations, or a transformed unicorn or even a new magically created breed, but all the possibilities seem awesome! Not going to lie: it might fit the spirit of G5, which is less fairy-tale-ish and more modernized.
Overall, it is great both as a joke and a concept. I do not see it as something "way out of hand" either — many things which are fun tend to be unique and quirky, do they not?
