I know, quite a shift from the last few pics isn't it? Admittedly this idea came heavily inspired by Sabaton's music video, "Steel Commanders." (Which is super badass!🤘) And ofc, yet another commission from
of Rory Legacy!
What is this? Well, it's a bit of a long story. But I'll try to compress it here and not lore-dump - I'll try. (feel free to ask about it though!) Basically I have an alternate, parallel fanfic/headcanon(?) story I've been brainstorming for years for TwoKinds, that throws canon Mekkan into the real world of the 22nd century - like a lost continent out of time. Glossing over a lot of stuff, in a short matter of years, a new keidran nation would be formed in Mekkan out of all the territories of the tribes and clans (the Keidran Tribal Republic (KTR)) and almost immediately it would be in a rush to modernize technologically and militarily. To oversimplify, it was not easy, and the first battles with the invading human empire/Templar Order would be bloody.
Rory here, all grown up and wanting to be an adventurer like Trace, but more importantly wanting to help his father defend the keidran race from the threat of extinction by the Templar, joins the KTR Defense Force - eventually becoming what we see here: a tank commander, wielding his father's sword (from the early chapters) as his personal melee weapon. And all the while, the Mask responsible for allowing his very birth (and all the keidran-human hybrids that follow), Ephemural, watches over young Legacy from afar with great interest - in silent vigil, and sometimes even boosting Aurora's incredible natural-born power in dire straits.

Actually that tank pin is for all tank crews that completed academy training. He's a lieutenant. And part of an elite unit for the Keidran Tribal Republic; 32nd Vanguards, Kuro Company; the "Black Demons" - otherwise known informally as "Black Company."
Backing up, the pin is actually symbolic since it's made in the silhouette of the Republic's first main battle tank series: reconstructions of the entire production line of the Leopard 1 MBT. In fact, he and his crew saw more action in their personal Leopard 1A5 nicknamed "Red Roselyn~" than most any tank they would ever see.
Ironically, he didn't originally enlist in the KTR military as a tanker, but as a power armor trooper.
