Hanna, when did wearing a pizza hat become a New Year's tradition? LOL.

I made it to New Year's last night but only because a) I was watching the Georgia-Michigan game and b) I was working on the next chapter of "There's No Way". It was the first time I actually was awake when the New Year arrived in probably 20 years or more.

I don't think it's going to catch on, too greasy haha

I guess you can imagine how I managed to stay up, I'm just glad I didn't fall asleep sick with everyone favorite ailment of the past two years at 8PM like I did last year.

Ouch. I'm lucky that I experienced that wonderful situation last September. Between the staph infection in my left ring finger last February and CoVID last September 2021 wasn't in the top 10 of my favorite years. LOL.

For me it was hardly a footnote in sickness other than it's lasting effect of altered smell for a handful of things. For example I can no longer identify skunk spray, it smells nothing like it used to and smells too similar to my other smells that have been corrupted to identify it by it's new smell. It's been a year now so I doubt those things will ever come back which really sucks because smell was one of my best senses. Both of my folks recently had it and they're slowly getting their smell back, I don't think they know if any are corrupted yet. 2021 has been an odd crappy year although the past few years were worse with the loss of family members, tornadoes and other situations.

I can understand what you're saying. I lost my sister to lung cancer about 5 or 6 years ago but that was the only bad thing that year. This past year was the first year that several bad things happened in the same year.

That Sparkling Grape Juice will kill ya. It's a gateway drug, next thing you know she'll be snorting carbonated cider...

Honestly not even a bad way to celebrate, definitely better than anything I've ever done. Fun idea with this, happy New Year!

It's roughly the way I've done NYE, just trying to stay up till midnight doing whatever at the house. I think sometimes we'd just have a family game night, other's we'd watch several movies and Sparkling Grape Juice was often involved.
