I love the texturing on both of them, and I see what you're saying in the "floating" matter. Maybe it could be the shading on the roof? Are those supposed to be the flat style roofin types?

The "floating" feeling may come from the subtle/smooth shading. I often do the same, as I'm a bit shy about shading sometimes, but with more contrast in the areas of the roofs that are closest to the bodies, it may emphasize with the closeness/proximity, if that makes any sense.

The picture is absolutely stunning and I can't help marvelling over the fur detail. I have absolutely no patience for this whatsoever so I'm admirative of your work here. : )

I always feel the same with my artwork : ( I guess it's hard to feel confident about your own stuff.

The wolf's fur and the anatomy of the characters are fantastic, but the whole thing just doesn't work as a picture, I would have been more inclined to paint the background in. Like I said though, fantastic looking fur and great anatomy :3
