Galex normally has a recurring habit of messing up her arcane spells, a lot. So the few times where she does get spell right, are when Galex most admires her potential.
Take this shapeshifting lesson for example. While Galex isn't keen on changing her limbs to wings, claws or tentacles currently. Stuff like hair and skin colour, or outfits are much easier to change.
And for a half genie, there no better example than shapeshifting into the most famous half genie, Shantae.
