I get the impression that training and learning to be an effective healer of the physical body is always more fascinating up until the point where a situation comes up where that knowledge is necessary. But I suppose it makes sense, when it's combat against death on a level. Gotta face your foe to fight it. (Okay no not necessarily, but it'd probably be darn hard to shoot an enemy without ever looking at it.)
