“Thanks for coming along with me Lane. I had fun today!” Whisper exclaimed as she walked alongside her friend, somehow managing to convince him to hold her bags she got from shopping today-
The tall wolf nodded as he tried to keep up with her. He seemed distracted, as if something was on his mind. They had been out shopping all day, and Lane had no idea what to get Whisper for Christmas! He had tried to sneak hints from her, ask her about things that interested her…to no luck. It did not help she wound up buying what she wanted on her own, making it harder for him to get her anything.
With a dejected sigh, Lane shook his head and tried to force a smile so as not to worry her, “Y…yeah, today was fun! Is there anywhere else you want to go?” he asked. While Lane normally -hated- shopping, especially for gifts, he also realized Christmas was only a few days away. He had to try and keep prying for ideas for potential gifts for her. Though it was starting to get late and he knew they would have to head back soon. As he approached the end of the corner, he realized Whisper was no longer next to him- where did she go?!
He looked behind and caught her staring in one of the shop’s windows.
“Come on Whisper, we better hurry up and catch the next subway before it gets too late…” Lane gently nudged her away from the window, only to find her glued to it once more. “Hmm, what are you looking at anyway, the cookies? If you’re hungry we can stop for food-“
She shook her head and pointed at the snow globe that was on display in the center of the window, perched around some soft, white filling to give it the look of being nestled on a snowy hill. “Isn’t it cute? I would love something like that” She looked at the price tag and dejectedly frowned; she was not spending that much on a snow globe. Staring at it a bit longer, she sighed before pulling herself from the window, “I’m ready…let’s go.”
But Lane stood at the window a bit longer, rubbing his chin in thought. He glanced at the shop’s hours- they closed at 2200: it was currently 1845. Perfect. He was going to make a stop back here after he dropped Whisper off at her house.
Lane, you could have just saved yourself a headache and got Whisper some sweets as a gift. When it doubt, get a wolfcat food and she will usually be happy, lol. You guys need to learn: food+women= instant happiness.
Joking aside, second gift for my dear friend lanefurno9x9! His birthday was a few days ago as well. I really hope you have an awesome christmas and birthday Lane~
As for artist? I want to give a very special thank you to trialestis. Absolutely a joy to work with, fast turnaround, and just a sweet person. I will definitely be commissioning her again- thank you!

Oh I know you far too well, that's why the story works! LOL
What I do, is anytime a friend or family member tells me they want something throughout the year, I make a note of it in my phone (take a picture of it, screenshot, note, whatever). That way when christmas comes, I already have some ideas on what to get them!
Trust me, it makes life so much easier.
I'm so glad you liked it and are getting some time off to relax. As soon as I finish working out shortly, I'm going to get some gaming in. Have a merry christmas~
