I recently watched The Cove, which was a documentary about how the Japanese are trying to secretly wipe out 23,000 dolphins a year simply because they're 'pests' and eat the fish they net. But the dolphin meat cannot be consumed safely due to high levels of mercury.
Anyway, it inspired this pic.
While thinking up the idea, I remembered another artical about how some Chinese zoos farm tigers by over-breeding them, then starving them to death to get the bones - to make tiger bone sake for cash.
And that's the story behind it.

And Hawaii, don't forget Hawaii. But in all seriousness... Japan is only one of a series of islands in a large wheel over there, so Japan wouldn't be the only one in trouble when 2012 comes. ;) I think the dolphins would eat them all if given the chance when the time comes.
