Recently the USB port in my usual tablet broke off the PCB so I needed things to do while I waited on a soldering iron to arrive. I do have a backup tablet but I don't like using it as much. I do like that I don't need the stabilizer at all but the color display is only 6bit instead of 8bit and with a noticeable green bias. When I use that tablet I have to switch off the display and use it like my Create, but because the screen is so smooth and the retraction distance of the pen is greater than I'd like it's just not as comfortable for me.
As for the image itself, I just wanted to make a slightly-more-serious picture of my Starbound player character. I did work on other things in the meantime but you'll see those later.

Just the thought of "fixing the fancy technology." I follow a guy on youtube who is a big advocate of making consumer technology more repairable so hearing folks actually do it is fun. And really, using something you've put back together after it broke it quite satisfying.
Oh, yeah, I've never liked the idea of throwing something out over a very simple repair. My Create is pretty old and I bought it refurbished, so I wasn't surprised that it eventually needed a repair. Touching the port to the connection contact still allowed it to work so that seems to be the only thing it needs. Tossing it would be a total waste and a real shame, plus the tools can potentially be used for other things in the future.
