Standing in just his boxer shorts,Nathan's heart was racing and his whole mind riddled with anxiety as everyone kept running around him, picking costumes left and right and dropping his belongings throughout the room. No matter how hard he tried to shout that they got the wrong guy, they were too wrapped up in getting the show ready to even listen. He was just a prop that needed to be prepped up for showtime.
"FOR THE LAST TIME, I AM NOT WHO YOU THINK I AM I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TELL YOU BUT YOU DON'T LISTEN!" - Nathan growled as his arms were forced up to try and put a red coat on him. Meanwhile, a couple of assistants were at the bottom of his feet getting ready to pull his red pants up and boots. "We are dealing with SUCH a diva right now. He's one to talk, between the grandpa bloomers he is wearing and the bad pedicure and smell in his paws, he should not be acting like he is better than this!".
With the red hat and beard being the final pieces of the costume, Nathan was fully dressed up as the Santa Dragon, the character they wanted ready for the performance. Before he could even get a grasp of what was just happening, the crew grabs him and shoves him on-stage. "Get ready big guy we BARELY made it work now it's all in your hands, don't mess it up!".
The spotlight hits him, showing off his holiday-trimmed outfit and costume, much to the joy and delight of the many children that had been waiting so eagerly for his presence. Nathan finally became aware of what had happened, but when he did, he was already knee-deep in this new scenario. He couldn't just run back and say they got the wrong guy. Nathan understands as a therapist that ruining the beliefs of others, especially that of children, so abruptly can create some really bad memories. Despite how he was handled as if he was a prop backstage, Nathan was ready to put on his performance and keep the illusion and belief alive.
The crew were backstage clapping as they had successfully put on the show and enjoying how everyone was receiving it so warmly. This joy was somewhat short lived as a portly, cuddly looking older dragon came backstage with a concern look upon his warm face. "I am SO deeply I am late, you guys! My wife got out late from her doctor's appointment and the traffic got really bad and couldn't find parking. I am also sorry I didn't answer your phone calls or text messages. Can we still do this?".
Everyone looked at each other in complete shock as the finally put together what Nathan was saying all along; HE WAS NOT THE ACTUAL SANTA DRAGON. With the fear that the way they treated Nathan and how they forced stripped him, destroying part of his clothing, and then just shoving him onto a role he was not meant to do could lead to some serious consequences. But the real Santa Dragon saw what was going on on-stage and saw that his "replacement" was doing fantastic as he greeted every child with a warm smile and attentively listened to what they had to say.
"See that right there, guys? He may not be the actor for this role, but he understands why these moments matters, and I can tell that even if he doesn't do this professionally, he does understand how important it is to show compassion and understand to even a total strange, young and old alike, for they don't know if they need it badly. Maybe he WAS meant to be out there with them, not me. When he gets a break from this, I will talk to him, you ALL apologize for what happened, I will buy him dinner, I will pay for anything YOU guys damaged, and I will make sure that what you guys were going to pay me goes to him...and if you can double it, even better. After all, even if it worked out, this is your mess to clean up."

Yeah, that they are standard and ordinary compared to other kind. They said it because they were being mean about it assuming that Nate WAS being a diva actor acting like this. And I wanted to end it by just stopping as the real Santa Dragon arriving, but I decided to expand on the ending to show that Nathan does have a knack to be compassionate and listen to people as that's his profession and give it a happy ending despite the whole fan service aspect of the pic.
