i got a little ahead of myself and started designing her markings before I had a solid idea of what her face looks like.
anyway, this is sort of the jist of it, though.
both fullbody pics are about right (working out proportions atm) and the side view on the right side of the page is fairly close to what I'm going for.
side view's gonna kill me, though. everything else is pretty easy because the technique for Big Sister's Face is, like. . .
1: draw a circle
2: place a large, rounded triangle somewhere within the circle.
3: place square eyes above and to either side of the triangle.
ANYWAY, yeah. getting there, slowly but surely.

it's rather unfortunate that the story itself isn't as fun as the style would make it out to be >>
they are quite a thrill to draw, though, and a definite challenge, since I tend toward "NO THERE SHOULD BE BONES THERE WHY IS THAT ARM SHAPED LIKE THE LETTER S"
still, though! I'm hoping that the way the storybook presentation clashes with a depressing narrative will prove to have been a worthwhile endeavor~
