Woot, more werewolves.
These are two characters of mine, Ariea and Gryffen.
Story tiem.
'Gryffen originally was a human hunter bitten and nearly killed by a werewolf at a young age. Ariea was originally a common gray wolf, and, much to Gryffen's surprise, saved him by attacking the lycan that would've otherwise killed him.
The wolf stayed with the human for a while, as if some motherly instinct took over. They soon developed an affinity for one another, relying on each other to survive in the wild.
Gryffen was infected, however. He did change every full moon, yet Ariea held a mastery over the beast, capable of persuading the werewolf into passiveness until light. Though not always effective, this prevented many incidents of a lycanthrope tearing apart a village.
The two were inseparable, til some of the human settlements begin to unite against the morphics, the anthropomorphic races. One evening the two came under attack by a scouting party from a human settlement, hunting for 'morphs' as they called them. Seeing Gryffen talking to some morphics he had chanced by, they attacked. The defenders beat them back, though Ariea suffered severe injuries.
Impressed by Gryffen's willingness to aid them, one of the morphics offered a solution to save Gryffen's companion. The moon was beginning to rise as they were taken to a shrine. Ariea was offering her last breaths. Gryffen felt the beast within coming out. The situation seemed dire, but a spirit materialized before them. Though it did not speak, emotions of confidence and security filled Gryffen's heart. The beast came forward as the spirit burst into pure light, passing through Ariea and Gryffen. Their newfound companions were blinded as clouds suddenly blanketed the sky, leaving everyone in pitch blackness. As the clouds parted and light shimmered down, the beast was gone. Gryffen was forever changed, as was Ariea, who was breathing. She was no longer a wolf, and Gryffen no longer a human-- a piece of them had been exchanged with one another, sparing his life from the monster within, and hers from certain death.'
Very much condensed, lol.
