My second still life for Intro to Watercolour; I like this one a loooot better than the first one I did. Lots more textures and better choice of the composition crop.

As a watercolourist at heart (don't judge me by my FA account, lol!) who's been painting for almost 20 years, I am IMPRESSED. Your sense of light and shadow is excellent, your composition is very good, and I can see some very real skill in your brushstrokes. Frankly the layering on the skull is exquisite, I really love the overall feel as well.
I do feel compelled to ask...tube-pains or cake paints? I know all too well how getting a good hard shadow can be a nightmare with cake paints but they open up so many possibilities that the oils & preservatives in tube-paints can only aspire to.
Either way, though, this is EXCELLENT work, definitely a +fav and honestly very impressive. :)

Thank you so much! :3 I've personally been painting for about 5 years now myself ... I still have much to learn. :(
I actually had to use tube-paints for this specific piece, we only used Sepia. I personally prefer the cakes, I have a set of cake Gouache I really prefer. ( I love the opaque paints so much more over the transparency of normal watercolours )
