“It’s been quiet these past few months, hasn’t it Zoro?” A male voice said.
A male human with a military haircut which covered his brown hair underneath his police cap stood beside the table. His uniform consists of a regular police uniform for humans, pokemon, and those in between. The only difference is the gold badge showing off the Pocket Force unique symbol. Though the name could’ve been improved before finalizing, better than calling them Pokéforce.
“Yeah…I know this peace is what we all strive for, but it’s hard to relax knowing those villains who have escaped are hiding somewhere here in our town. It’s only a matter of time before they strike during our weakest, Halloway.” Zoro said.
Zoro joined the Pocket Force after his dad retired from his job as a police Pokémon. Going through training was tough, then again he expected the force to be challenging and he has been challenged many times. Many of them used his own type disadvantage against him, yet he came through all of them in the end.
The Pangoro had a similar look to his father with a white fur around his face and front down to his belly, everywhere else being dark gray. The difference between him and his father is the lack of a green leaf hanging off of his mouth, his father said it’s okay to have but Zoro said it looks unprofessional to the police pride. His body is a bit thinner and smaller than his father’s rounded body, but that’ll be years once he retires from the force.
“You’re the type of anthro that can’t stay still for too long, huh? I know you’re one of our most well known members and raring to go catch crooks any time, but sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself after a long day of work.” Halloway said.
Zoro sighed. “I know, it’s mostly due to the achievements my father had done during his time that really inspired me to do the same. I wished to do something similar to him one day.”
“I’m sure you’ll be able to surpass him one day, but even villains need their rest and a crime isn’t just gonna start any time soon. How about we head out to the Pokémaid cafe nearby for dinner before calling a day, my treat.”
“Thanks, but you don’t need to do that, Halloway. I’ll pay for my food.” Zoro smiled. He turned off the tv and stood up, adjusting his police cap before heading off. Halloway started the engine and drove off in the police car, passing by many people on the road.
Humans, Pokémon, and Anthros of all shape and size live their lives as they move on. They parked on an open spot as they reached their destination.
All Pokémaid restaurants have a muffin shaped building that surprisingly holds quite a lot of people inside. Of course they do have male employees in their building, they mostly stick with chefs or cashiers while the maids are just their gimmick of grabbing attention.
Halloway and Zoro got off and entered the building. The place is filled with people even this late at night. They went up to the cashier, a galarian Mr. Mime. who bowed before greeting them.
“Good evening and welcome to the Pokémaid cafe. How may I help you two today?” he said in a gentleman voice.
“Hi. I’ll have a salad with Combee honey, a medium-rare steak, and a chocolate alamo cake..” Halloway said.
“Just an egg sandwich, Diglett meatloaf, and a Buneary shake please.”
Mr. Mime wrote it down in his notebook before typing in the price. They both paid for their food as Mr. Mime bowed again. “Thank you very much, please wait on that table over there and a Pokémaid will come with your order soon.”
Zoro and Halloway took their seats and waited for their orders. Thankfully they didn’t wait for too long as a Pokémaid came in with their order, one who both of them are familiar with. This Pokémaid is an anthro Milotic, though she kept her tail as her legs, she now has arms with webbed fingers. Thanks to the anthro pokemon, they were able to create a device which surrounds pokemon that needed water to move around and travel with them.
“Here’s your order, you two. How has the Pokeforce been doing today?” Milotic said.
“Slow and peaceful, nothing too crazy happening, Myla.” Zoro said.
“Hehe, it’s mostly because with the help of you guys, we wouldn’t have this peace for long and I wouldn’t have the opportunity to apply for this job.”
“You seem to be in a better mood than last time.” Halloway said.
“Thanks, it’s been hard for me to get used to how things work here. Especially after what happened to…you know.” Myla frowned as she played with her earrings.
These earrings are brilliant pearls that shine even in the night. These were made by the well known Ms. Marisa, a Mismagius that made custom jewelry and she makes them very unique. Sadly, she recently has been involved in a crime which causes her to be blamed. The Pokeforce tried to get more info from her, but she refused to elaborate even more and was sent to jail.
“Myla, we also want to believe Ms. Marisa is innocent, but as long as she won’t cooperate, there’s no other evidence we have to point out the real criminal.” Zoro explained.
“I know, I want to believe she’s innocent. She would never do something extreme like that. Please, find her culprit if you can.” Myla said.
Both Zoro and Halloway nodded, “We’ll keep searching for any clues involved in that case, at least she was given a light punishment and will be released in a couple of weeks. Don’t worry, we’ll figure her case out one way or another.”
Myla wiped her tears and nodded. “Thanks, I better get moving now, don’t want to make your food cold and people waiting. I’ll see you two soon.” Myla floated back as the two policemen ate their food.
Once they had finished their dinner, they got up and were about to call it a day, when an explosion happened in the distance. People, Pokémon, and Anthros ran and screamed away from the crime scene, Zoro and Halloway quickly made their way to their police car and started their way to the crime scene. When they reached the crime scene near a museum, they saw three beings, two being human males and one being an anthro Mew girl, one they are all too familiar with.
Anthro legendary Pokémon is something that most people would be treated like some sort of celebrity, of course reality is not as kind as some would like to imagine. They have faced a few legendary Pokémon criminals before, this Mew being no exception.
Valentine has been the sworn enemy to Zoro, always facing each other in their battles with Zoro always coming out victorious. She has the ability to shapeshift into other anthro Pokémon and use all of the abilities in store, yet despite that, Zoro manages to capture her every time. No other Pokémon or human was able to match with her, except Zoro.
“Valentine.” Zoro said as he clenched his right hand.
“She must’ve escaped from prison again, shall we call in for backup?”
“Just call in the transport guys, these two humans won’t be much of a threat, it’s Valentine we should really worry about.”
“They might be armed, but there’s no one that can stop Valentine other than you, Zoro. Be careful, who knows what kinds of tricks she has.” Zoro nodded “Same to you.”
While Halloway was occupied with the two humans who fired back with guns, Zoro ran up to the Mew flying above looking down on him with a scowling face. Her attire is an all gray clothing that covers most of her body, leaving her paws and feet out in the open.
“Zoro” Valentine said with venom in her feminine, yet child-like voice.”
“Valentine, what are you stealing from the museum this time? Is gold and jewelry not enough for you?” Zoro taunted.
“Oh please, those things are always enough for me, but this time I have my eye on something in there and now I have it in my paws.” She said as she juggled the small bag around.
“Seems a bit smaller than most of what you always aim for.”
“Doesn’t have to be big to make it valuable, I could easily teleport or fly away from you easily, but I’ve got a score to settle with you.” She tossed the small bag and caught it with her tail. “This time, I’ll win this one.”
“We’ll see about that!” Zoro said as he got into his stance before Valentine quickly rushed towards him.
Zoro tried to block, but Valentine was able to hit him in his gut, it didn’t hurt much but it did catch him off guard a little. Valentine quickly dives back at a faster speed, Zoro opens his palms out as if holding something before Valentine bounced back on an invisible wall with some knockback. Quick Guard.
‘Good thing Anthro Pokémon aren’t limited to the usual four moves like we used to be, it’ll be very difficult to handle her otherwise.’ Zoro bulks himself up before running to her and punching her in the face. Valentine was sent flying and spiraling, though quickly recovered as she backflipped and threw an Aura Sphere in his direction.
Zoro quickly dodged, barely avoiding it, but Valentine wouldn’t give him time as she threw an Energy Ball towards him. Zoro swished his mouth around before firing a sludge bomb back. Both moves collide and exploded in a dark smoke, As the smoke cleared, Valentine was nowhere to be found, Zoro looked around before looking up to see a speck of pink flying up before heading back down towards him.
Zoro stomped on the ground to summon a stone pillar, picking it up and spinning around before throwing up towards Valentine. Direct hit! Valentine rubbed her snout before grinning, disappearing into thin air in front of Zoro’s eyes. Invisibility.
The Pangoro looked around, using Snarl every often in hopes of weakening her somewhat, with not much progress. “Gotcha” He turned around as the Mew was face to face with him before blasting his body with Moonblast. Zoro slid back, but still kept his ground before stopping, Valentine nowhere to be seen again.
‘You want to play that game? Alright, let’s play.’ Zoro closed his eyes and focused on where Valentine could be. Silence greeted his surroundings before he heard something move from behind him. He crossed his arms as dark energy surrounded him before spreading them out in a big area, hitting the invisible opponent and making her visible again.
Valentine was dazed as she was slowly recovering, the small bag nearly breaking on her tail.
‘I need to get that and end this quick, who knows what she’ll do next.’ In a quick motion, Zoro used Thief to grab the bag, however Valentine was quick enough to hold the bag back.
“Nice try, but this is mine for the keeping!” She pulled back, pulling the bag and Zoro before he struggled back until the bag was ripped revealing an oval red ruby.
Valentine dived to catch it, but Zoro used Darkest Lariat and sent her flying far, but he knew he needed to act fast. As the ruby landed, he dived down to catch it, only for a pink paw touching it at the same time. Of course teleportation is one of her specialties.
Zoro and Valentine struggled against each other for the ruby, not noticing the ruby itself glowing. They continued on until the ruby let out an energy shockwave that sent both of them back. However as they were knocked back, time seemed to slow down as both of their hearts came out of their body and moved around before switching to the other bodies.
Time resumed as both of them were flying towards something to stop their path. Zoro couldn’t hear much but muffled sounds as he saw two blurry figures standing in front of him. He couldn’t make out what they were saying, but he couldn’t hold on as he fell into unconsciousness. The last thing he saw was a speck of pink before fainting.
~~~
Zoro slowly gained back consciousness as he felt his body move slightly on the bumps on the road. Looks like he passed out during the struggle. He noticed it was still dark out, so it probably wasn’t too long that he was out. He wiped his eyes to remove the drowsiness, only to look in horror with widened eyes.
What should be his bulky black paw was instead a small, pink paw with not much muscle on it. He also noticed his arms were shackled in handcuffs. Zoro tried to stand up, struggling as his now long feet were shackled to restrain criminals from running.
“What ha-“ he heard a feminine, yet child-like voice coming out from his mouth, one he’s all too familiar with. He looked down and saw he now wore the traditional orange jumpsuit the criminals wore. His tail now long and pink, contrasting the dark colors of a moving van.
‘I’m in Valentine’s body?! How did this happen? Wait, if I’m in Valentine’s body, then that means-?!’ Zoro hopped his way to the front, banging on the little window.
“Crap! She’s awake!” The little window opened as a Parasect with a little police cap inspecting the prisoner in question.
“Paladin, it’s me, Zoro. I've somehow switched bodies with Valentine, she could be doing who knows what with my body. Help me release these shackles and tell the chief for an investigation team, ASAP.”
The Parasect paused before closing the window. “I don’t know, Charles. She could just be tricking us into thinking she’s Zoro. What’s your call on this?”
“Well, she’s quite an infamous criminal from what I’ve been told and she’s very clever when using tricks. Honestly, I’m not sure too much about Valentine aside from what I heard, but just to be safe than sorry, put her to sleep so that she doesn’t cause too much trouble on the way.”
“Roger that.” Paladin opened the small window again. “Sorry, Valentine. It’s time for some shut eye.” Paladin fired Sleep Powder in Zoro’s face, coughing and feeling drowsy every second. He tried to stay awake, but the drowsiness was too much before falling back to sleep.
~~~
Zoro woke up again, this time inside the prison cells where they hold off criminals of all kinds. Zoro tried to move, but he’s now restrained onto a stroller with no way to break free. He tried to struggle, but the ropes refrained much of his movement, his muzzle covered by a mask that muffled her words. As he was being taken away by his fellow policemen, he took note that all of the prisoners here were female, human, pokemon or in between.
Once they reached the designated cell, the guards shove the Mew’s body forward until a barrier surrounded her cell. Zoro screamed at the guards, only to be fruitless as the barrier blocked out any noise or sound from the inside.
“This can’t be happening to me! I’m not Valentine! I’m Zoro, a member of the Pokéforce! Hey!”
Zoro shook the cell bars with no progress. Other cell mates looked at him weirdly before going about their own zone. After the initial shock wore off, he started pacing around the cell rapidly, nearly tripping over his long feet until he got used to it. Nearby was a window with bars covering his escape, although he knew it wouldn’t matter if it’s pointless to do so, he had to try and escape.
‘Come on, Valentine was able to escape prison a few times before. Much as I don’t like doing this, I need to escape and find my body fast before she does too much damage.’ Zoro closed his eyes and thought of a move, any move to help him.
He tried shrinking down with Minimize, but his body wouldn’t shrink down no matter how hard he concentrated. Then he tried to teleport, sadly it’s much harder than he thought, also checking out both invisibility and shapeshifting. A ding sound rang as he knew this move all too well.
He crossed his short arms before a dark energy swirled around him and he released it. It made contact, but rather than exploding upon touch, the move reflected back at him causing an explosion. No other prisoners heard due to the barrier on their cells as the smoke cleared up, Zoro having swirls in his eyes and a twitching foot.
He slowly, yet painfully, stood back up. ‘Right, I’m a Psychic type now. If that’s how much damage my own moves do to her, I bet some of my physical moves packed way more punch than I expected.’
What felt like hours when it’s only been minutes, two guards came in. One being an Incineroar and a Drapion with police hats came in, the Incineroar opened the cell up.
“Follow my buddy here, don’t try anything funny, Valentine.”
Zoro just followed quietly, after a harsh push from the Incineroar, entering a door before taking a nearby seat. In front of him is a glass barrier and a physical phone hanging on the wall nearby. His new ears twitched as he could hear the mumbles of two people, arguing about something. Once it died down a bit, Slowking and an older police person entered, the elder man picked up the phone on his side before Zoro picked up his phone.
“Valentine, though this crime is not as big as your other ones, you still caused quite the trouble for everyone.” The older man said furrowing his brow.
“Chief! I’m not Valentine, I’m Zoro! Somehow we have switched bodies and-“ before Zoro could finish, the Incineroar chopped on his throat. Although it didn’t hurt as much, Zoro couldn’t let out any words, just wheezes of air.
“Let me finish. Now, with all the crimes you’ve built up and you constantly escaping your cell, the Pokeforce suggests that you’ve been moved to an insane asylum. Hell, I was almost tempted to go through with it, until Mr. Slow showed up here of all places. I never thought I would meet my old friend here, but it seems he has something to say to you.”
On cue, the older person moved out of the way for the Slowking to answer, placing a white box nearby.
“Greetings Valentine. Normally I wouldn’t be in such a place, but I agreed to help someone I know of. However, he told me that such a strange situation has happened with you. I’m not sure if what he’s saying is true, so I’m gonna have to enter your mind and dig a little deeper for clarification. Will that be okay with you?”
Zoro nodded as he closed his eyes. Mr. Slow put out his arm and focused his psychic energy into the Mew’s mind. Zoro felt something invading his mind, experiencing something he never thought he would feel, someone entering his mind. Flashes of memories flew by in an instant from his childhood to training and to where he was today.
After that, they both opened their eyes, Mr. Slow had that dreamy face as usual. “Hmmmmmm. It seems he’s right about the situation with you. Hold on a moment.”
Mr. Slow put down his phone before talking with the chief policeman. Zoro couldn’t hear what they were talking about through the glass, it wasn’t long before the chief answered back. A clinking sound was made underneath his table as Zoro reached under and grabbed something out of it.
A spray bottle, which he recognized as throat spray. He opened his mouth and sprayed inside it, the taste not very good but he slowly regained his ability to speak again.
“Mr. Slow told me about what he saw, I’m still skeptical of it all being true. So I’m gonna ask this one question for you. Depending on your answer, I’ll believe in what Mr. Slow says.” Zoro nodded.
“How do you feel about having this leaf in your mouth?” Zoro can only groan in Valentine’s voice.
“Chief, you know how I feel about having one of those sticking out of my mouth. It looks unprofessional and some people would confuse me for smoking out there. Not to mention how weird it would be to search for a single stick with a single leaf on it if it gets destroyed.” he said annoyingly.
“Well I’ll be, it’s that really you in there, Zoro?”
“Yes Chief. As for how I got in this body in the first place, it probably has something to do with that jewel Mew was trying to steal. It started glowing the moment Valentine and I touched it at the same time until the light burst our bodies forth, hearts flew out of our bodies before switching to the other body. How a jewel has the ability to switch people’s bodies, I’m not sure.”
The chief policeman thought to himself. “Does this jewel happen to be a red ruby, by chance?” Zoro nodded.
“This sounds like a Heart Swap case then. You weren’t around when it happened, but we do have cases where people and Pokémon had their bodies swapped a few times before. They usually only last a couple of minutes before wearing off, but with your case Zoro, I fear it’s not the case with yours. That red ruby came from Manaphy, which is known for this kind of move.”
“Then we need to find her and switch our bodies back before Valentine can do damage to my body. Have you already sent an investigation team on my body?”
“We’re still looking for your body as we speak and I also want you to be back in your body as soon as possible. However I need to warn people about this case first before releasing you, people would assume the worst if they see the infamous Valentine working with the Pokeforce without some sort of explanation. I doubt everyone will believe it, but they still need to know the situation.”
Zoro stood up abruptly, “ You’re just gonna leave me here just to warn people about it!? My body is on the line, I need to go and help out however I can!”
“ I know, I know. Just be thankful it’ll only be a few days rather than weeks or months. With your current state, you’ll have trouble fighting villains when you’re not used to that body yet. We also don’t know where we could find Manaphy nor where she currently lives underwater.”
“I can tell my acquaintance to help with that.” Both the chief and Zoro looked at him. “He seems to have knowledge of a lot of situations similar or worse to this. Here, you can have this. It’s supposed to be for Valentine’s cellmate, but he figured you might need something.”
Zoro picked up the box under the grate and opened it up. It’s a cake that’s decorated with different flavors all around, followed by chocolate and fudge in the center. He noticed it’s already been sliced to eight pieces, so he turned it around to look for any oddities.
“If you’re wondering, no, this cake doesn’t have anything illegal or a file for you to escape. Believe him, last time he tried that, his client just plainly ate the whole thing without realizing it. Those are his words, not mine.”
“Wish I can get you out sooner Zoro, but think of this whole thing like training, a very rough training for some criminals. It’s nothing too bad, just be careful with the other prisoners here, okay?” Zoro nodded.
“You two, I want this kept secret between us until things have been explained to everyone, do you understand?”
The Incineroar and Drapion saluted as they escorted Zoro back to his cell with a box of cake in his hand. Once they reached the cell and locked him up again, Zoro sighed as he took a plastic fork inside the box and started eating a slice.
‘Usually we have different activities to rehabilitate criminals here everyday, whatever it is I can handle it. I just wish Valentine would’ve eaten before doing her heist.’ Zoro was lost in his thoughts, not noticing a black tail with a red marking in it slowly making its way towards him.
The tail quickly wrapped around his torso and squeezed him tight before lifting him up. Zoro tried to struggle his way, unfortunately Valentine’s body is much weaker than his.
“So, trying to steal my prize after failing again? You really have gotten down low, Valentine.” Said a female voice. The tail lifted him up the bunk bed to see a Seviper in an orange jumpsuit staring back at him.
‘Sevene’ Zoro remembers her as one of the criminals Valentine really had a close connection to, even then it’s mostly by her decision rather than Valentine’s.
“Let me guess, Zoro took you down again. How many times does that make now? I seem to have lost track. Hmm? Wearing bindings again, Valentine? You shouldn’t be too embarrassed of your own body. Here, let me help you out.”
While still clinging onto Zoro right, Sevene used her tail to unbutton his jumpsuit, revealing tapestry wrapped over his chest. With one quick slash, the tapestry was sliced off, revealing his moderate sized breasts. Zoro didn’t have time to comprehend his new eighth as Sevene wrapped his whole torso again and squeezed the air out of him.
Zoro tried to figure if there’s any way to get Sevene to release him, however any resistance was futile as his face slowly turned from red to blue.
‘She’s choking me! I can’t die now! Not in Valentine’s body!’ Zoro continued to struggle for air, but Sevene had a very strong grip on his body. His vision started to fade.
‘No…not..like..this…………..’ *gasp*
Zoro dropped to the floor as he was finally able to catch some air, coughing in between breaths. “As much as I liked to choke the life out of you, you’re the only person I’ve known for quite some time now. Besides, the person who gave you that box wouldn’t just give it to you without his reasons.” Sevene said as she dragged the box up to her bed.
Zoro began to breathe normally again as he set himself back up. “So tell me, what did he tell you?”
“It’s none of your business.” He stayed in anger before buttoning his jumpsuit up.
“With my acquaintance, he’s seen and done things that I hardly could believe until I witnessed it with my own eyes. I can handle just about anything weird you throw at me, plus you’ve been acting more calm than usual whenever you fail your heist. Almost as if you’re a different person inside.”
A moment of silence before Zoro sighed. “Firstly, he didn’t come in person. He sent in someone else to deliver it for him. Second, he’s gonna help get this whole thing fixed I’ve gotten involved in. Lastly, I’m not Valentine, I’m Zoro, a Pangoro in the Pokeforce.”
Both of them stared at each other for a moment before Sevene started laughing out loud and rolling on her bed.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh my Arceus, that’s hilarious. This really beats the list of things I’ve witnessed before to the top. So, how does it feel to be a prisoner by your own force, let alone a female?” Sevene asked, holding back her laughter.
“Don’t kid yourself, in a few days I’ll be out and finding my body and hopefully be back in it.”
“Please, how are you certain that you will be out in a few days? Let alone searching for a way back to your own body?”
“I’ve got my ways.”
“Same here. Whooo-boy I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. Here, I may be a criminal, but not completely cruel like Valentine. I saved you your piece and an extra slice for you.” Sevene slid her tail down with the slice he watered and another slice of cake.
“Those Pokémaids really know how to make delicious cakes. I can’t get enough of them.” Sevene said as she ate the whole cake down in one gulp.
Zoro was about to refuse when his stomach started growling. He looked down in disbelief.
“Usually Valentine likes to steal some sweets from the cafeteria often, plus she uses way more energy than you think. Sweets tend to help cure your little hunger problems and restore her energy.”
“Why are you being nice to me?”
“Oh, don’t get the wrong idea. I’d like my prey to be alive and breathing to play around with, it’s no fun if they’re dead to me. Anyways, enjoy your cake, I know I’m gonna have a blast with you tomorrow.”
Zoro went back to his side of the bed and ate the rest of the cake. After finishing the slices, he set the box near the cell doors before laying on the prison bed. A lot of things flew in his mind, but all he cared about right now is getting some rest. He closed his eyes, letting sleep take over his body to prepare him for the upcoming days.
One day, Zoro was bored and was hoping something exciting would happened. When crime started nearby, would he get what he wanted or would he be risking more than what he bargained for?

~~~
Zoro slowly gained back consciousness as he felt his body move slightly on the bumps on the road. Looks like he passed out during the struggle. He noticed it was still dark out, so it probably wasn’t too long that he was out. He wiped his eyes to remove the drowsiness, only to look in horror with widened eyes.
What should be his bulky black paw was instead a small, pink paw with not much muscle on it. He also noticed his arms were shackled in handcuffs. Zoro tried to stand up, struggling as his now long feet were shackled to restrain criminals from running.
“What ha-“ he heard a feminine, yet child-like voice coming out from his mouth, one he’s all too familiar with. He looked down and saw he now wore the traditional orange jumpsuit the criminals wore. His tail now long and pink, contrasting the dark colors of a moving van.
‘I’m in Valentine’s body?! How did this happen? Wait, if I’m in Valentine’s body, then that means-?!’ Zoro hopped his way to the front, banging on the little window.
“Crap! She’s awake!” The little window opened as a Parasect with a little police cap inspecting the prisoner in question.
“Paladin, it’s me, Zoro. I've somehow switched bodies with Valentine, she could be doing who knows what with my body. Help me release these shackles and tell the chief for an investigation team, ASAP.”
The Parasect paused before closing the window. “I don’t know, Charles. She could just be tricking us into thinking she’s Zoro. What’s your call on this?”
“Well, she’s quite an infamous criminal from what I’ve been told and she’s very clever when using tricks. Honestly, I’m not sure too much about Valentine aside from what I heard, but just to be safe than sorry, put her to sleep so that she doesn’t cause too much trouble on the way.”
“Roger that.” Paladin opened the small window again. “Sorry, Valentine. It’s time for some shut eye.” Paladin fired Sleep Powder in Zoro’s face, coughing and feeling drowsy every second. He tried to stay awake, but the drowsiness was too much before falling back to sleep.
~~~
