You Will Never Guess Who This Is(Answer in Desc)
I would love to know if anyone actually did know this character, or the franchise he's from. For the answer, I'll say it plainly. This is Scias, the Grassrunner, from Breath of Fire 4. He's a traveling swordsman for hire, working to help protect the younger Princess of Windia from the machinations of the Western Empire. He's also working for a group who want to kidnap her for blackmail reasons on her father, or to sell her to said Empire(Who had kidnapped her older sister), though he finds his honor and returns that blood money, before embarking on a journey that will see gods die before they're done.
He's....a unique looking guy, and sadly, if you play the NSTC or EUR version of the game, you will NOT get most of his backstory, as the western version was heavily censored, and since he mostly gave his stuff in a bathhouse, which was cut completely, he'll just be a weird dude. Oh, you do get some of his character to be fair, but it doesn't always mesh, and he never talks about himself. The game had issues like that all over, as in, two of the major villains have no onscreen deaths because those were censored as well, leaving what happened to them unknown in the Western release. And of course the man behind all the bad stuff survives regardless of version because the game was rushed by Capcom.
Anyway, this guy interested me. There's even a sequence where he almost steps on a tiny Nina, thanks to some fairies shrinking her. Luckily, a momma bird saves her...then tries to feed her bugs because it thinks the winged girl is one of its children. Then later on they kill friends and family begging for death, witness someone killed in order to steal their soul to turn into the fantasy equivalent of a nuke, and watch some poor child crawl towards you and die(With the blood trail removed). Yes, they censored the game to get rid of a bathhouse and several on screen bloody deaths, but left in child death, torture, and elsewise...this series was weird, given this was a late PSX title(Not known to censor much of anything), that was heavily censored, meanwhile Breath of Fire 2 was on the SNES, you know, a 90s Nintendo console, and it got away with murder, death, torture, death of personality, and possibly rape(Not on screen, but implied). Again, on a Nintendo Console.
