No Trailer For You!
brooklynx has had a rough time of it at his job. The system keeps assigning truck drivers to come pick up a trailer at his warehouse... that he doesn't have. He'd give it away gladly if it existed, but it doesn't and no amount of asking will make this magical trailer appear.Perhaps he can give a better description, but that's the gist of it. So he gets a comic page because, damn, the stress has been crazy.
Be patient, Brooklyn, you're almost done with the crazy season.

Yep. We tried to bobtail a driver out so we could get an empty trailer to use for an outbound load due to no empty on site. Loaded said trailer, and put the trailer run ID on it. 5 emails, and 5.5 hours they finally granted the request. Even the carrier company was getting pissed.
And during all of it, they tried to send a driver for an empty trailer that still didn't exist. And yet our request to bobtail that driver out was taken care of quickly. Yeah... we were ready to set the dock on fire.

Oh, I feel Brooklynx' pain! I spent a couple of months working as a security guard at a BIG furniture retailer's Distribution Center. We were essentially the front men for the warehouse; the drivers had to wait outside the gate for their trailer to get loaded. So, the building had over 100 doors, all numbered. Once their trailer got loaded, we'd tell the driver at which door his trailer was stationed.
One driver got impatient and went in without being given a trailer. He was going to take whatever was available and go. The other guard went down and told him he had to wait, and if he didn't, we'd have the cops talk to him about trespass with a motor vehicle and theft of a loaded trailer. I notified the Dispatcher, who called the driver's carrier company to never send him back. This clown was no Jr. Novice, either.
