Maria scrambled to get back on her feet after jumping to the side from the claw swipe. She glanced over her shoulder as tried to get to her feet both before her and the bear looked over in response to a loud deep roar from the side. Shadow's large form came charging into the clearing and wasted no time slamming his body into the bear, knocking it off its feet and tumbling backwards.
While growling he backed up and over where Maria had fallen. Keeping her well guarded under him as stared down the bear. The fur bristled all over him in rage. The bear got back on its feet and reared up on its hind legs with a threatening roar in front of the two.
