mmmm I think many of the old ones could swallow a whale..... Dagon.... Nyarthlotep..... he can change shape so that would be easy.... shummieal..... he's basically a giant worm creature.... shouldn be hard but he hates water.... hell technically the Dhol creatures which were merely sub races were large enough to have a whale on rye....

basically while he never admitted it their are some pretty obvious sources... his original slusho drilling company viral media thingy on his website said the drilling company hit an "undersea island" and that "some green ichor bubbled up from below" this is what woke up the cloverfield monster supposedly. It's also kind of telling that it's face is covered in similar feeding tendrils and such.
