Made this monster out of 01 tool steel. Handle scales are red oak. Made no attempt to pretty this one up as it is going to be seeing very hard use.
This was my first real attempt at punching and drifting a hole, and I am very pleased with the result. The blade is a little over a foot long, and 4 inches wide. I butcher whole deer carcasses at work and needed a better tool for breaking them down. After a very brief testing session I am both pleased and frightened with what I've made...
The little guy up top is mystery high-carbon steel, I made it to sharpen my pencils, overall length is a little less than 4 inches.
