So, important to mention, one of my closer friend circles really is just a bunch of gun nuts and a passing thing we do is talk about weird and dumb ideas that could "Theoretically work" for a gun. and this morning the idea was mentioned as something like this.
"How about a crossbow that works as the mainspring and hammer for a firing pin? The crossbow gets loosed and the string hits the firing pin and sets off the gun"
TECHNICALLY it could work but... that is some goofy gun. While not directed towards the DragonScape I figured that some drek, with all those brass cartridges, scrap bits of lead and a vague understanding of the early alchemical "Flashpan" (Charcoal and powdered fireflint, makes an armstrongs mixture like explosive). Might get the bad idea of something like this.
But considering the best tube a drek might ever dig up is Brass, and far more often copper this is... Asking for trouble, not saying its impossible (many gun barrels in history have been made out of brass and even one or two of copper). But to say it is sketchy would be an understatement. At best glue that pipe on, tie it down with layers of sinew, cordage and copper wire, cover that with a bent plate and pray that nothing comes flying off into your chest

Well the answer is in theory yes, the question is more on practicality.
A gun can go off in the dragonscape, the problem is more if its a valuable use of resources for the various tribal peoples across the dragonscape. You aren't making an accurate gun here nor one thats easy to use. For many tribes putting a lot less effort into an atlatl or almost the same effort into a crossbow makes for a hunting weapon that is more reusable and, while may not drop something as quickly, does it well enough to keep meat on the fire and to chase off the occasional rival den of drekir in some cases.
And guntech, especially making a propellent does often get lost amongst drekir populations as the first generation doesn't feel it important to pass something like gun technology down the line to the next generation, which then has no real reason to care about it and over time, that technology gets forgotten in favor of more easily made "works fine enough"
Maybe some cultures find a reason to put extra time and effort into making a gun but at least an equal amount and likely more will just not deem it a worthy sacrifice of resources and time, all for something that might just explode in your claws

I think the question was whether a human-made gun brought in by SEAC or something would be good. I think the answer ends up being 'good luck getting more ammo.'
Some of the first uses of gunpowder was actually to pack it in a (bamboo) tube with some shrapnel and mount it on the end of a long stick (so that ideally it hurts the enemy more than you).

waterfan2 had it right-i did mean the weapons possibly brought by humans. Regardless you both raise good points-firearms as deadly as they are would be too much of a novelty to use in dragonscape so it's understandable that the tribes would use bows and crossbows due to their simplicity and practicality.
I do wish to bring another question about weaponry-on a lot of art we see drekir using mostly various variations of spear-like weapons so i was wondering if this type of weapon is prefered due to their body structure/physiology or are they capable of making and using other types of melee weapons too?

Yeah basically, no technology to reliably maintain their use and few materials that make it easy and worth it to make their own in large numbers.
Drekir do not swing very well, especially with things like swords or clubs, their swing arcs are too short and they aren't spectacular in the arm strength department. So poleweapons are pretty universal amongst drekir, easy to make, ergonomic to use and versatile in what to use them for and with.
Daggers are pretty common weapons and there are long handled bladed weapons that develop over time (the handle helps them ergonomically with swing) in addition to light, long handled clubs and pole maces. Staves are also pretty common and used.
But generally stabbing polearms, mostly spears, are the ones that you see the most, they hit most all of the needed and wanted qualities a drek would want in a weapon so you see many shapes and sizes
