In fact, I used to make these miniature starships, from old plastic parts and "L'Eggs" containers. Do the still market "L'Eggs" as women's hosiery? The one at top is one I still own, a couple of others I gave to friends, but I don't think I actually interested anyone in buying a single one. The final one I made was abandoned half completed, from lack of my own interest. In years of experience, I never found it to be particularly profitable to be *too* creative. It never sold well.

the irony is these are pretty good ideas for deep-space craft, curved hulls handle pressure differencials well, no need for wings or vanes to steer when that's only possible through thrust, no signifigant points of weakness to hobble the whole ship. unfortunately, effiency looks too goofy.
Except that low surface area to volume ratios are actually bad for spacecraft: It makes it harder to get rid of waste heat.
Consider that even with as little power as was involved in operating a Space Shuttle, once it orbit they had to open the bay doors to expose the radiators, (which took up nearly the entire inner surface of said doors), or everything would overheat.
