Fennecs are probably more well known for their rather large ears. There are other things about them, that people might not know about, which I figured I'd share here. Maybe as references for anyone that might find them useful.
Even when fennecs walk around, their legs and paws seem to turn into nothing but a blur. Much like their ears, there are some adaptations to the paws. It doesn't show in the picutres, but the pads are completely furred over, much like a rabbit's. It helps to protect the feet while walking around on hot sand. The claws might seem long, but that is normal, as it helps with digging. Something they seem to do, as if it were a bad habit. (The claws did get trimmed at times. Though, had to be careful not to nick the little blood vessel inside.)
I also included picture of the tail. Just a little from the base, is a black spot of fur, which marks where a scent gland hides. One fennec I had, it never really went off. While the other, it depended on how excited or startled she got.
